We are a traditional fish & chip shop located on the Glascote Road in Tamworth. As we have been in the Fish & Chip trade for many years and have won many awards. We pride ourselves in hygiene and customer service, with all food prepared daily using only the best and freshest ingredients by our highly trained staff.
Sustainability and Eco friendly packaging
At George’s we recognise that responsible and sustainable fisheries are of paramount importance. We will continue to source our fish from areas that promote this message of sustainability through our supply chain. All our fresh fish is filleted and prepared daily at George’s so you can rest assured that you can enjoy our delicious fish knowing where it was sourced and how it was produced from the ocean to your dinner plate.
All our packaging materials are environmentally friendly. Through reducing waste where possible and choosing packaging supplies which are suitable for end-user recycling, we believe the impact of packaging on the environment can be greatly reduced. We are committed to ensuring that as a business we continue to play our part in looking after our planet.

Our Story
In 1999, late November, My cousin Jimmy and i opened what was then the Glascote Fish Bar. The shop went from strength to strength in the coming years, and eventually in 2006, when the partnership ended, i became the sole owner. Everything i know about cooking today i owe to my now late cousin Jimmy. He taught me how to always strive to become better, to be the best. Sadly he passed away in 2015, but his legacy lives on through me, his younger apprentice.
It was in 2006, when the Glascote Fish Bar got its oldest and most famous staff member to date, he needs no introduction, my father, the one and only Solomon! Though i worked for my dad in my youth at his shop in West Bromwich, Hately Heath fish Bar to be exact, we hadn’t worked together for a few years, yet it was like we had never been apart. My dad is the reason we do what we do, my inspiration, and if the drive to be the best is attributed to my cousin Jimmy, then my dad is responsible for everything else. My dads main influence on me and all our staff is, the service we give to customers, “they are the reason we are here” he always says, and he always stresses the importance of knowing customers by name and treating them with respect they deserve for keeping us going for over 20 years now.
You all know the shop as “George’s” now, but what it took over the years to get there, the journey, would never of been possible without you, our
beloved and loyal customers. So thank you!
